After their tumultuous entry into Sacorria, Alex and his friends are recovering at the castle in the North kingdom. King Nikolas has offered sanctuary and training as they try to get Varina back.
When her attempt to take Alex was thwarted, Varina fled to the wilds. With Firestarter at her side, she will do whatever she has to in order to get Alex to join her—whether he wants to or not.
While the teens focus on training and finding a way to help Varina, Nikolas prepares his kingdom for war. Dangerous beasts and mercenaries have already breached the border, and he has no choice but to fight.
